Cobra Commander - Helmet by PrimeOp Cobra Commander - Helmet by PrimeOp
Here's C-Double rocking his original figure's outfit from back when I was just a young'un. Here's some unnecessary information: I originally drew the pistol WAY too big and had to shrink it digitally. Yes, his helmet is reflecting his pistol and fist.

Now this is the Cobra Commander Hasbro should have stuck with, instead of the Cobra-La garbage.

Hasbro found their way back pretty quickly with that Cobra Commander situation, though. There just seems to be a lot of bad decisions surrounding both the G.I.JOE and TF movies, mostly because they underestimated how attached their fans were to the original characters.

They lost a lot of fans with that colossal blunder though; such as myself.   I stopped paying attention to the G.I. Joe franchise until the IDW and Devil's Due comic series.

Yeah, Destro got him that Pilates machine powered by moon rocks, plutonium and yeti marrow as a Christmas present a while back but no one expected him to use it quite that much.

After all the crap C.C. went through in 2009, hearing you yell that probably did him some good.

Thanks for liking it!

Cobra commander was very cool!
He was also voice by once of my favorite VA's ,Chris Latta.

You would think his voice would seems over done and too cartoony, but he was able to convery some much emtion with that voice it was amazing. He could really get a raise out of the viewers.

Latta was great with that voice. I don't care if no one really talks like that because that's the whole point of enjoying fiction, especially a kid's cartoon. It really is weird for a voice like that to have such range, but Latta was a genius liek that.

Ha, it'd be nice to go, but there's no way I could make it.

Pour some convention fun on the curb for the fans (like me) that can't make it!

I had thought the same thing, but one one of the guys I do commissions for gave me an advance on a couple projects I'm working on so I could go; pf course he attended as well so we had a chance to hang out and chat about the projects :)

Too bad you couldn't make it -- Larry Hama and several illustrators from Hasbro and even the artist and writer of the comic were there! :)

Yeah, I heard that even Herb Trimpe was there. DAGNABBIT. I really dug his work on [link] and Godzilla. That man knows how to draw some serious chaos.

There was so many people there, including the wrestler that they made the IG figure after, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper :) There were people walking around in some great costumes too! When my film gets developed, I'll probably post them here on DA :)

Thanks!

Most people forget about the helmet because the cloth mask got more use in later figure designs whenever they wanted re-do his old-school look.
