Description
I drew this before but couldn't color it due to mad amounts of eraser burn. Based the look on official art seen on the Capcom Classics Collection vol.1 (where the rifle is black instead of white or light gray) and the post-Level pic where it says, "You got 3-way gun" or such.

Oh hey! One of my classic favorite NES games! XD
I never expected a fan art of this anytime soon or ever really. XD
This was the Bionic Commando I remembered and enjoyed. I saw the new version,
but didn't like the character design and bulky look of the bionic arm. Plus I miss the original
sound effect of the bionic arm, I don't know why they never kept it. So much for visual and
sound aesthetics. 
XD Well anyway, this came out really well. It's very difficult to find any prominent visual reference to draw from. When I was looking up on my favorite game, it was mostly the in game character,
and the cover art, and the "optain 3 way gun" imagery. LOL That was as good as it gets. XD
But you did an awesome job, as I immediately recognize the character and the arm and even the gun.
Sometimes when I go on my GPS on my phone to check on the bus route arrival, I sometimes play the
map mode soundtrack in the back of my mind. LOL Chessy soundtrack but memorable. XD
Bionic Commando had been one of my inspirations for my OC that I drew. My character also sports a bionic grappling arm, that he shoots from his gauntlet. I haven't drawn and posted him using it yet, but it's one of his aresenal of weapons and equipments as a black operative. I do plan on drawing him using it pretty soon.
I was looking for inspirations and that's how I came across this pic. This is one game, I wouldn't mind replaying again. 
Gotta say this was probably the very first game known to have that gory element, when that
Hitler look a like, got blown up. XD That was shocking to see back then, and I was like...
!!! XD
